Hi All Pirates,
After a week off, hockey is back!
I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking it may have been a bit longer between fixtures, but again we have proven living in the most isolated city in the world has its advantages when combatting a global pandemic!
Following yesterday’s announcement from the WA State Government regarding the easing of restrictions, Hockey WA have released a statement which summarises what the next week will look like. This can be found here
Key points:
- Crowds will be allowed at indoor and outdoor community sport from Saturday onwards;
- Masks will be mandatory for indoor public venues, including club rooms and change rooms. Masks do not need to be worn outside but they must be worn if physical distancing can not be achieved – spectators; if you can’t adhere to the 1.5m physical distancing requirements, wear a mask;
- The two square metre capacity rule will apply to indoor public venues, including club rooms, change rooms and other indoor facilities. Venues need to be cognisant of the size of their change rooms before making them available to teams;
- Clubs and associations are advised to continue avoiding the sharing of playing equipment (PC masks etc.), as well as water bottles and food.
Please continue to sign in to venues via the SafeWA app and follow the government advice. All going well, we should be back to “normal” in the not too distant future,
Good luck to all teams this weekend!
